# A report for your doctor

Stool Log turns your diary into a report your doctor can read in a minute. The last 14 days are free, as a PDF to print or share from your iPhone.

## What's in the free report

The free report covers your **last 14 days** on one page:

- **Red flags first:** blood, and black, red or pale stools, each with its date and time and what came with it.
- **Your questions** for the visit, typed in before you make the report.
- **Key numbers:** stools a week, the share that were hard (Bristol types 1 and 2) and loose (types 6 and 7), and the longest gap between stools.
- **How it went:** how often you strained, felt you hadn't finished, needed to go urgently, went at night, or sat for more than 10 minutes.
- **Day by day:** each stool drawn as its Bristol shape in Hard, Regular and Loose rows, so the pattern shows at a glance, even printed in black and white. Days you didn't go and days not logged look different.
- **The Bristol types,** so anyone reading it knows what the shapes mean.

Your year of birth and sex can go at the top if you add them. There's a blank box for the clinic to fill in the patient's details; Stool Log never puts a name on it unless you keep a diary for someone else.

## The full report, with Stool Log Plus

The full report covers **14, 30 or 90 days** and adds:

- **Symptoms** and **medicines,** including missed doses of daily medicines.
- **What changed,** week by week, and what came with it.
- **Possible links** between foods and your stools.
- **A calendar** of each day, and a **daily diary** with what you ate, drank and took.

See [Stool Log Plus](https://stoollog.com/plus) for everything it adds.

## Sharing it

Make the report from the last card in Insights. It's a PDF: print it, email it, AirDrop it, or show it on your phone at the appointment. There's also a **CSV spreadsheet** with every log, for a doctor or dietitian who wants the detail. **Photos are never included.**

Set the date of your next **doctor visit** and Stool Log reminds you the day before, with your report ready to open.

## Why a report helps

A doctor has a few minutes, and most of us can't remember how often we went last week. Two weeks on one page answers "how often?", "how hard?" and "since when?" before they ask. Our guide to [what to bring to a GI appointment](https://stoollog.com/blog/what-to-bring-to-a-gi-appointment) has more.

The report shows what you logged. It isn't a diagnosis: talk to your doctor about what it means for you.

## Get your first report free

Log for a few days and the report fills in. Before then, Insights shows a sample report so you can see what it looks like.
